[ nods because yeah that sure is what they did!!! ]
Man, I'm jealous... [ of like, everyone from almost every other game, but especially this. ] What was it like? It must be really different from the one in my world.
It's fairly different from what most people seem to expect, if they're familiar with the concept.
[He wasn't which means he just got to go in and be like "weirdass place" while everyone else was like WHERE'S THE HELLISH ETERNAL SUFFERING...]
It wasn't the worst, despite supposedly being a place of punishment. [A little, sloping shrug.] Endless islands of all kinds scattered across a sea of lava, except there were islands with snowy mountains and things, too, so it wasn't just ceaseless heat and fire. Just more of life itself, really. Bars, markets, apartments, shops. A lot of drinking.
Wait, so... was there no torture at all, or was it just the more mundane kind? Like, did the apartments all have paper thin walls and really bad plumbing or something?
[me sitting here like i'd believe that to be an actual thing that would happen to totty in his canon's version of hell
He just nods, though!]
No, none of that. Well, unless you ran afoul of someone with a bad temper and a penchant for tearing off parts of your body, but most of the residents I ran into didn't leap to violence.
[ help he didn't find out about the satan thing until another thread after this so i guess here he's just going to be like alex??? uh sure okay maybe she has connections. and not ask questions lmfao ]
...? Okay, I'll do that.
Come to think of it, it was pretty random in most of these things, wasn't it? So I guess it's actually kind of impressive that the auditors were able to be so precise in bringing us here specifically when a lot of us were already back in our own worlds. Not that I like saying positive things about them, but. Sort of says something about their capabilities.
[ well. unless they just already returned the randos they accidentally picked up off the street in the process, i guess. ]
[So valid of him. Sometimes you just get directed toward a teen girl when talking about Hell in all its mediocre glory and don't ask questions about it.
It would be frankly hilarious to think of them just going through a bunch of randos like "hmmm nope. nah, not this one. not this one either". He just crosses his arms, looking faintly irate.]
For all we know, we have some sort of marker now that bizarre inter-dimensional beings can pick up on, now that we've been through one of these things each. Maybe it's less impressive than it seems.
[He's just saying this because he doesn't want to give these fuckers ANYTHING.]
[yuul when she took a picture of the wrong brother earlier today]
To that end, there should be some way to throw idiots like these auditors off of our trails. That mousy boy has already been to three of these; I don't want to become that.
[NOT THE ALIEN PROBE. Meanwhile his ass out here like surely we can just figure out the technology to build a forcefield or something, damn.]
Ugh, seriously. It's like playing in these stupid games is practically your occupation at that point.
[ though he guesses he's technically been in three himself now, even if he doesn't remember one of them. is this HIS occupation now??? this is not how he wanted to escape NEEThood ]
Hopefully we can figure something out if we get a better idea of what they're doing.
[IS IT. Rip to the people who have been yoinked into multiple places and had to go through the gauntlet more than twice and also the many people who got amnesia about it, couldn't be his ass. He sighs, setting his hands on his hips and glancing around the place again for a moment.]
The general aim of some is to uncover as much as possible about the auditors so we can avoid a third repeat, but we all know how these things go.
The idea of a council of smug idiots making us all dance to the tune of their circus music for two months and then setting us back out into the vast expanse of multiple realities for little more than their own personal enjoyment does grate. I won't be torn up about it if we don't get the chance to bleed them dry, but it would be a nice bonus.
