[ todomatsu's just hanging around outside the refectory or something because he has nothing to do and he hates every building here. he perks up as soon as he sees robin, though, because god damn she's pretty??? his anime never has character designs that Aesthetic.

and her profile was one of the few he noted as being within an acceptable non-weird age range, soooo

he smiles and gives her a wave. ]

It's at least a little less creepy in daylight, huh?

[ when will osomatsu get into the mobile game market

she smiles in return. ]

It is nicer to see more of where we've arrived. It would be nicer yet if the fog could dissipate, but perhaps it will later in the day.

[ she's a little hopeful but not too hopeful. ]

Yeah, it's still a pretty miserable atmosphere right now... though I guess on the bright side, we don't have to worry about sunburn for a while.

[ robin is making rounds of the village. ]

Mr. Todomatsu, I am sorry your night at the cabin had to end with something like that. Are you doing all right?

N-no, it's fine. I mean, apparently it actually happened at the theater anyway, so...

[ his assigned housing is somehow the most cursed-ass place in this town despite there being a mortuary and a literal haunted house. ]

How about you? You were friends with him, right?

[sonorant]

... It happened at the theater? What do you mean?

[ please clarify. ]

... I would like to have become better friends with him.

[drymonster]

Ah... um, that's where we found his body. And some of the furniture was broken, like there was a fight in there...

week 2, monday

[sonorant]

[ I WANT A MEMORY IN RETURN. I'M STATING THAT FIRST, but i'm still writing my memories up. you'll get it in the next tag.

robin is going to flag todomatsu down with a raised hand. ]

Good day, Mr. Todomatsu. [ is it? ] You don't have to answer this question if you don't wish to, but after last week, I wanted to see how people felt about the monster affinity partnership. Have you found your partner, and if you haven't, do you want to?

Oh, Robin-san!

[ smiles brightly SHE WANTS TO TALK TO HIM!! YEAH!!!

...oh, this is just about business stuff, isn't it.

he shakes his head. ]

No, I haven't. And I don't think I really want to. It seems like way too big of a liability... I mean, the idea of someone else having to die if I get killed...?

[ and MORE importantly, the idea of HIM having to die if someone else gets killed!!! ]

I don't know if a shot at greater power or whatever could really be worth that.

[sonorant]

That's understandable. I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts for their own.

[ in the inevitable case someone is murdered, as is becoming the norm. ]

as much as he's been crushing on her this whole time, he hasn't made that much of an effort to really get to know her, and hadn't expected this heavy of a backstory... though in retrospect, maybe he should have picked up on some hints in her profile. ]

Ah...

[ he doesn't know what to say when he sees memories like this; the feelings he's gradually becoming acquainted with through others' experiences here are ones he never had any reason to feel before. it's almost embarrassing how stupid and inconsequential his own memories seem in comparison. ]

week 3, saturday

[sonorant]

[ robin is seated in a clearing in roth, as far away from everything as she can be. she's quiet as she looks up at the lights that cover the canopy. ]

[drymonster]

[ ah. todomatsu comes over when he sees her, but stops and lingers a little ways away to let her have her space. ]

...Hi.

[sonorant]

[ she looks at him briefly before looking back up. ]

Hello, Mr. Todomatsu. How are you doing?

[drymonster]

[ he shrugs. ]

Okay. Been a long day. Spent a lot more time looking in a guy's mouth than I ever wanted to.

w5, monday

[drymonster]

[ FINALLY, our long awaited wardrobe expansion. todomatsu has a bunch of new clothes packed into a bag on his shoulder and has already changed into a fresh shirt as he continues through the pavilion to check out everything it has to offer. real food... he can hardly remember what that's like now...

when he sees robin, he gives a nice little wave from a distance......... but then goes over to pull her into a hug, radiating embarrassment and the sense that he is very sorry for this even though it's objectively very nice. ]

Sorry, I really don't mean to be in your personal space like this.

[sonorant]

[ she hugs him back with a feeling of understanding. ]

It's all right. After seeing some others, I believe I know what's happening. Are you enjoying the new location?

[drymonster]

[ wouldn't it be funny if he was just taking advantage of the effect and faking it. i can't say he wouldn't have in another timeline.

anyway he appreciates the understanding and she will feel it. ]

Yeah! I mean, parts of it are creepy — I don't think I want to get within ten meters of that medical center — but we're finally getting a lot of the things we've been asking for a repeat of. Kind of wish there were some more modern styles here, but I'll still take it.

[ one benefit of being created in the mid-20th century is that the clothes from that era still work on him... ]

[ comes and sits down outside the barrier. the emotions are sad and tired and anxious, because he never knows what to say during these conversations and he feels like he usually just makes things worse. but he'd felt bad about not coming to see daan last week, and he doesn't really want to end up feeling that way again.

it's selfish, like everything else he does. ]

...Robin-san.

[sonorant]

[ her emotions are the terrible violent and bloodthirsty kind. it's bad in here. she looks as unhappy as you'd expect. ]

What do you want?

[drymonster]

[ ah. well. that's fine. ]

I don't know. I wanted to hear what you had to say, I guess. About what happened, or about all the things we don't understand.

w6, wednesday

[sonorant]

[ totty are you free of your kissing booth yet....

whenever he is, robin will approach him. ]

Are you holding on well, Mr. Todomatsu?

[drymonster]

[ yeah, he ditched it as soon as people started splitting off to do their pcs. ]

As well as I can, I guess!

[ which is like. not great. but it is what it is. ]

How about you? It's got to be a lot livelier over there than it is here at this point, right?

[sonorant]

[ yeah, robin is so worried about the living's mental wellbeing.

she opens her mouth to say something and blinks out. she comes back with a frown. ]

There are... more of us over there... [ she blips out again. ] We have smoothies.

[ she frowns again like she's not sure why that's something she can say. ]
