I mean, they sure as hell weren't there when I first took it out of the crate and checked it during the day, but it was really dark when I went to sleep, so maybe they could have already been on it then without me noticing if they were on the other side...

Taking the book off the premises eventually results in auditory hallucinations and a compulsion to return it to its original place.

I learned this the first day, and told multiple people this and advised against interacting with the book any further...

Mr. Akabane or Mr. Geto are usually my suspects for anything untowards that's been happening all over the camp, yes.

Given he threw a rather large worm in my face upon our first meeting and claimed it to be an "accident", it doesn't seem like behaviour that would be above him.

Anyway. It seems to be a repeating problem so I definitely recommend not touching anything that looks suspicious, and checking all clothes, blankets, doorways and the like before entering.

It's unnecessary stress, but caution is preferable to someone finally getting an infection or parasite off of these things.

We do have phones... but I suspect it's similar to the difference in religions and otherworldly orders.

Okay, well... toward the end of the century, they came out with these cell phones that transmitted by waves in the air or something instead of using lines, so they didn't have cords and you could take them with you anywhere. Then in the 2000s they came out with smartphones, which basically also work as a computer... and camera and music player and video game system. Like, pretty much anything involving communication or media.

Anyway, that's what this is.
